Middle School Girls and Boys poised to make a run at STATE CHAMPIONSHIP this year!

As I sit here reflecting on the Middle School Boys and Girls Track and Field Season so far - I realize that I have NEVER been a part of such a DOMINATE group of collective athletes in my 12 years of coaching track.
The pieces are starting to fall in place for BOTH teams to make a run at a historic FIRST ever Middle School State Track and Field Championship in Lexington, Ky on Saturday May 26th, 2012!!
Where do I even BEGIN as I reflect??
For the Boys  - the TWO most dominate athletes on the track at EVERY meet are 8th Graders Peyton Glynn and Desjahvonni Miles - Peyton is ranked FIRST in the State in the Triple Jump and Desjahvonni is ranked FIRST in the High Jump!  Both are the main pieces to our top ranked 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams and both are ranked in the top 3 in the 100m AND 200m!
ANOTHER athlete that has been dominating his events is 7th grade distance runner Bryce Margle - He is currently ranked #1 in the STATE for 7th graders in the 1600m and also has the BEST time in Region 1 for both the 800 AND 3200m!!
Other key contributors in the field events include 8th Grader Ethan Clark in the High Jump and Long Jump, Tre Hornbuckle in the Long Jump and Triple Jump, Cole Riley in the Pole Vault and Cory Dickerson in the Shot and Discus.
On the track we have had SEVERAL boys step it up this year - 6th Grader Abongo Adongo in the 800 & 1600, 8th Grader David Lu in the hurdles, 7th grader Robert Harvey in the 100 &200, and 8th Graders Hunter McAlpin, Duane Curtis, and Tre Hornbuckle in the 400 and 300 hurdles.
Our top hurdler/vaulter this year Cole Riley has been nursing an injury and we are looking forward to him getting back out on the track with us soon.

The girls team has SO many athletes who are ranked #1 thru #3 in the State I dont know if I have enough room or time to list them all :-)
